As part of our long-running effort to modernize our front ends, we are in the process of moving the management of page content to the Admin Portal instead of doing so directly on the community website. This way, managing pages is contained in one place, and you can enjoy the benefits of using the modernized code that powers our Admin Portal.

While this feature is in beta, our users can preview the ability to view and manage pages directly within the Admin Portal, starting with the most commonly used page types! We’ll be releasing the ability to view and manage additional page types over time until every page type can be managed this way.

Managing pages in the Admin Portal

In the "Pages" section in the Admin Portal, you'll see a pencil icon under the "View/edit" column. When you click on this icon, if the functionality has been developed for that page type, you'll be able to manage its content from the Admin Portal. Below is an example of what that would look like for our "General text" page type.

You'll see a message like the one in the screenshot below for the pages that cannot yet be managed from the Admin Portal. Instead, you can click the link in the message to visit that page on your community's website and manage its content from there.

Can page editors manage pages in the Admin Portal?

No, only administrators with the "pages" privilege can manage and edit page content from the Admin Portal. Eventually, we'll have another interface available to page editors where they can manage a page's content. For now, they can continue to edit and manage that content from the website.
